As part of ICOMOS’s ongoing commitment to the #Culture2030Goal campaign, the Sustainable Development Goals Working Group (SDGWG) is pleased to announce a new series of regional webinars: “Integrating Culture and Cultural Heritage into Sustainable Development.”

As we approach the critical final years of the UN 2030 Agenda, it is essential that cultural heritage is recognized not just as a legacy of the past, but as a primary driver and enabler of a sustainable future. This series is designed specifically for ICOMOS National and Scientific Committees, as well as individual members, to provide the tools needed to advocate for culture in global and national policy.

What to expect:

• Strategic Insights: An overview of the current place of culture within the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the #Culture2030Goal roadmap.
• Practical Tools: Introduction to “The Culture Goal: from necessity to reality” framework developed by #Culture2030Goal campaign as well as the SDGWG’s new “Mapping heritage contribution to the SDGs” and “Proposed structural framework for the cultural heritage subchapter of VNRs”,” results-oriented tools for demonstrating the impact of heritage on sustainable development.
•  Regional Perspectives: Tailored discussions with Regional Vice-Presidents and National Committee leads on navigating Voluntary National Reviews (VNRs) and Voluntary Local Reviews (VLRs).
• Future Outlook: Strategies for mobilising our network toward a standalone goal for Culture in the post-2030 Agenda.
